Team Talos
TCCA is excited to offer engineering and team-building experiences through its robotics team, Talos (named after the Greek myth involving a metal "man" that guarded Crete). We participate in competitions and tournaments within the FIRST Tech Challenge and F.U.N leagues throughout the school year.
Through the design, building, and ongoing maintenance of our robot, "Zoomie," scholars are encouraged to further their interests in the areas of math and science. The FIRST program overall prepares young minds to work and thrive in our increasingly technological world and global economy. The process of building and designing the robot is difficult and expensive, yet rewarding. Through the program, students gain a priceless opportunity to experiment and explore their technological capabilities and gain exposure to several aspects of technology, including technical design, computer programming, and even business management.
One of the most effective ways to support Team Talos is to sponsor us financially. By contributing monetary support, the team will be able to purchase necessary materials and tools to make our robot competitive; in return, we offer several benefits, including advertising space on the robot itself and advertising space on shirts and flyers.
